Big surprise : Black Bull CHOI1 1 Ton 8' HD Chain Hoist
I brought this intended to hoist bundles of roof shingles onto my 2 story home. To my surprise how short the chain is. It's not more than 7 feet long. I guess this would have been great is I am trying to life something right over my head, but this was pretty much a useless tool for me.
When I took this out of the box, it was well greased. But even with that much grease, I had trouble pulling on the chains. They would often lock up, and would move anymore. Since this is my first hoist, it could be user error, but this is a very simple pulley system, i doubt highly that I was pulling it incorrectly since there is only 1 chain and 2 directions you could of pull.
